... is located in the village of Kanzem at the Saar-River (wine region Mosel). In 1889 the vinery was founded by our ancestor Heinrich-Joseph Patheiger from Trier. His name was carried on into the time when the winery was leased from the 1950s on. In 1994 Franz-Josef and Annette Frey started to continue the family vinery under their “new” family name “Frey”.
In 2007 the next generation started to continue the vinery. Katharina Frey-Treseler and her husband Cord Treseler started organic-wine-certification and began to plant new vineyards.
We are growing typical regional grape wines (Riesling and Weißburgunder (pinot blanc)) because these are best adapted to soil and climate of our steep slate wine hills.
